Your journey commences with a 3 night stay in Darwin. On the 26th June you will fly to Kununurra and transfer to the magical El Questro Homestead for your 3 night stay. The property is perched on a cliff top overlooking Chamberlain River offering truly stunning views of the surrounding area. With almost 700,000 acres to explore, the Homestead’s surrounding landscape is dramatic and expansive with something to offer everyone from adventurous explorers down to novice hikers.

After a memorable 3 nights, you’ll fly to Broome, where you’ll stay 3 nights at Cable Beach Resort, the only resort there to have a restaurant and bar overlooking the beach and the ocean. There’s plenty to explore in and around Broome. There’s of course a camel ride at sun set on the beach, fish and chips at Matso’s pub, visit a pearl farm, buy some local art or take a scenic flight over the hunter river to Mitchel Falls. Whatever you do in Broome, its sure to leave a lasting impression on you.

After Broome you will fly to Perth and spend 2 nights at the COMO The Treasury, a unique property in the heart of Perth and on the 4th July you will board the Indian Pacific train for the final leg of the itinerary from Perth to Sydney. Onboard you will receive a first class experience including impeccable service, a regionally inspired menu with fine wines and beverages included.

    Today enjoy a full day tour to Kakadu National Park.

    World Heritage listed and the largest National Park in Australia, Kakadu is one of the most diverse landscapes you’ll ever experience, and you’ll be amazed at the population of wildlife in the water, on the land and in the air. See some of the most amazing terrain Australia has to offer on your way to and inside Kakadu. Marvel at the concentration of rock art sites that illustrate Aboriginal culture, some dating back 50,000 years.

    Enjoy a final day in Darwin at your own leisure. It’s popular waterfront area has several beaches and green areas like Bicentennial Park. Also near the water is the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, displaying Southeast Asian and Pacific art, plus a pearling lugger and other seafaring vessels.

    Dining at El Questro Homestead is an inclusive part of your stay and is an extension of your Kimberley experience with menus inspired by the richness of the produce of the Ord River Valley. Guests enjoy breakfast on the wide, sweeping veranda with uninterrupted views to the Chamberlain Gorge as they watch the morning sun warm the surrounding ranges with a soft pink glow. Lunch is served at communal dining table under a shady awning as guests swap tales of their morning adventures and enjoy a chilled glass of Western Australian white wine. Dinner is hosted under the stars, at either the communal table or guests may dine privately at one of the three locations overlooking the Gorge. The modern Australian menu, changes daily and showcases local, seasonal produce.

    Take a walk on the beach, take a cab down town and explore the many shops or visit an art gallery. A visit to Broome is not complete without beer battered fish and chips for lunch at Matso’s pub. Enjoy a sunset camel ride on Cable Beach.

    Enjoy an included Day Tour to Rottnest Island which is a protected nature reserve, and home to the quokka, a small wallaby-like marsupial. White-sand beaches and secluded coves include the Basin, with its shallow waters, and Thomson Bay, the main hub and ferry port. Strickland Bay is known for its surf breaks, while reef breaks occur at Radar Reef, off the island's far western tip.

    After hotel check out, you'll be met and transferred to the train station. Your journey from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific Ocean begins as you pull away from the platform in Perth mid-morning. Settle into your comfortable cabin and get to know the creature comforts of life onboard. Enjoy a modern Australian lunch as you glide through the picturesque rolling hills of the Avon Valley. After a relaxing afternoon onboard, enjoy a three-course dinner prior to your late evening arrival in the wild west township of Kalgoorlie.

    Awake to the spectacular expanse of the Nullarbor Plain to watch the sunrise. Be captivated by the big blue skies and ancient stillness of the desert landscape, broken only by a mob of friendly kangaroos. Waiting ahead is the charm of the once-thriving Nullarbor railway community – now ghost town – of Cook. Sit back and relax as the train continues its trek across the longest single stretch of railway in the world. Another mouth-watering dinner is followed by relaxed conversation in the lounge before a restful night’s sleep.
